More than half of Americans are dissatisfied with their work. That is a lot of dissatisfaction. A key reason for this dissatisfaction is conflict (sometimes called bullying) between employees.
Unless you are one of those people who are “cut from the conflict cloth” then conflict will make you dissatisfied, or worse. Coping with conflict makes you feel sick and hopeless. The situations always seem so personal, and, for the targets of bullying-type behaviors, they are personal, very personal. Conflicts are negative, painful, self-esteem crushing experiences. Bosses spend as much as 30% of work time dealing with workplace conflict. Employees wish the 30% of time their bosses spend on conflict issues was time spent stopping the conflict and improving things in the office.
